It's a given that we rely sometimes on clothing to hide "body imperfections" that we are quite ashamed of. I, for one, am guilty of this. Despite having a small to average physique, I have always struggled being a bottom heavy individual. Hence, I invest a lot on dark bottom wears such as pants and skirts to make my legs look smaller than they actually are.
I'm so glad I invested in this pair of black jeans that I was able to find online. A graduating college student posted on Facebook that she was selling various colored jeans to help pay for her tuition. It was actually a perfect timing to be honest as I was searching for a new black pair of pants to pair with my Friday Company shirt. So I figured... might as well buy from this student since it is, after all, for a good cause. Plus, it only cost 350 pesos. Good thing, however, that the size I chose fit me perfectly after purchasing it.
Based on the photos - wearing the same pants, shoes, watch, specs but different venues and tops - I could confidently say that my legs don't look as big as they really are. That's the beauty of black denim jeans or any dark colored jeans for that matter... they give the illusion of having a slimmer physique. It's basically an eye trick that I learned in psychology in college. Yep, colors (and even shapes and styles) really do play a part still when it comes to hiding those so-called "body imperfections" and help a woman (even men) make themselves feel that "okay yeah, I look good on this one". And for me, those are my legs. I'm not saying that I don't love my body... I REALLY DO! It's just that I am not as confident in flashing my bottoms because I feel that these are too big for my body structure. I'm just really thankful for the existence of black denim jeans that make me look like I have slimmer legs. Yassss!

I scored this top during an impromptu garage sale at our company. I didn't realize that it was a cropped top until I tried it at home. I still love it though. Ha ha! |
Ladies, if you're like me who's struggling with insecurities especially in the bottom area of your body, BLACK DENIM JEANS are indeed a life saver! It is recommended to invest a pair or two and make this a fashion staple in your closet.
That's it for this STYLE POST. Until the next one, BABES! Ciao!
